Brownies

Alton Brown's Brownies

Ingredients
  • 8 Eggs

  • 4 cups (880g) Sugar

  • 500g Butter, melted

  • 2½ cups (200g) Cocoa Powder

  • 4 tsp Vanilla Extract

  • 1 cup (140g) Flour

  • 1 tsp Salt

  • Optional: Extra chocolate chips and chopped and whole Pecan Nuts

Method
  1. Line a large, deep oven tray with baking parchment.

  2. In a stand mixer, beat eggs until light fluffy

  3. Turn speed down to the lowest setting and add sugar and vanilla

  4. Slowly add a few spoons of the dry ingredients followed by some of the melted butter and continue alternating until everything is mixed together

  5. Pour into the prepared tin and roughly level the mixture

  6. Bake at 150°C for 45 minutes (this will provide a moist, chewy brownie)

  7. Remove from tray onto a cooling rack and allow to cool

  8. Chill in the fridge for at least an hour before cutting into squares.

  9. Keep refridgerated in a tupperware and separate layers with the baking parchment

Notes

Eat cold or heat for a few seconds in the microwave and serve with cream or ice-cream
