Honey Glazed Eisbein

Ingredients
  • Eisbein

  • Honey

  • Salt

Method
  1. Score skin of eisbein in a diamond pattern

  2. Salt liberally

  3. Place on a rack in the oven for 50 minutes at 160°C

  4. Flip over and roast for another 50 minutes

  5. Flip again and roast for 20 minutes

  6. Flip one more time and roast for another 15 minutes at 200°C

  7. Brush all over with honey and return to oven for a further 5 to 10 minutes (make sure the honey doesn't burn)

  8. Let the meat stand for 10 minutes then serve with sauer kraut and mustard
