Cylindropuntia spinosior, commonly known as the Cane Cholla or Walking Stick Cholla, is a robust, tree-like succulent grows up to 2 meters tall, characterised by its cylindrical, purple-tinged stems covered in dense, sharp spines and prominent tubercles.

Origins: Southwestern United States and Mexico


Overall Appearance: A shrubby cactus with cylindrical, jointed stems that are densely covered in long, barbed spines. Grows up to 1.2 meters high and can spread widely to form dense thickets.


Leaves: Reduced to spines. 


Flowers: Purple, reddish, orange-brown, yellowish, or white flowers that appear in spring and early summer. 


Fruits: Yellow, fleshy, and spineless fruits. 


Seeds: Produced within the fruits. 


Soil Type: Tolerates a wide range of soil types.
