Bean Soup

Omi's Bohnen Suppe

Ingredients
  • Green beans, cut into 3-4 cm pieces (as many as you can fit into your pot with all the other ingredients)

  • Some potatoes, cut into small cubes

  • Stewing lamb cut into pieces

  • Onion, finely chopped

  • Potatoes, peeled and cut into small cubes

  • A little oil for frying the meat

  • Bohnenkraut (Summer Savory) to taste

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • Water to cover

Method
  1. Brown the meat in oil

  2. Add onions and sauté until soft

  3. Add all other ingredients and stir well

  4. Add enough water to cover everything

  5. Bring to the boil and simmer until meat is soft

  6. Adjust seasoning

  7. Serve with crusty white bread
